October 2-9 is Wisconsin’s Money Smart Week.   Money Smart Week in Wisconsin is sponsored by the Chicago Federal Reserve and the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions. It’s a wonderful opportunity for women of all ages to learn more about a wide variety of financial topics.  Free financial classes are being held this year in 27 different regions all over the state.

Money Smart Week classes cover everything from how to save more on your groceries to how to be a smarter investor. Classes are held at schools, libraries, senior centers, and local organizations.  Over 120 classes are being held this year in Sheboygan County.

Did I mention classes are free?  Presenters volunteer their time to teach the classes, and every presenter signs an agreement stating they will not sell anything during their classes.  I’ll say it again - no obligation, free financial education!

Study after study shows the majority of women still feel they are not educated enough about their family finances and investments, and as a result are uncomfortable making financial decisions. Here’s a great opportunity to get some free education, and change your financial future.

What follows is a shameless promotion of the classes I am teaching this year for Money Smart Week:

How To Be An Intelligent Investor

How are you making your financial decisions? How do you know you are choosing the right financial decisions for you, even in your 401k?  How do you know if your investments are doing well?  This class will teach you how to be a more intelligent investor.

Here’s the schedule for How To Be An Intelligent Investor:

Plymouth High School – Monday October 4, 5-6 pm, Room B201
Plymouth High School – Tuesday October 5, 7-8 pm, Room B201
Horace Mann Middle School, Sheboygan – Thursday October 7, 7-8 pm, Room 126

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire

Is it even possible for you to become a millionaire? Do you even want to be a millionaire?  Learn the characteristics and habits of millionaires, and what it takes.  Make the choice if it’s for you, and get started on making it happen.

Here’s the schedule for Who Wants To Be A Millionaire:

Plymouth High School – Monday October 4, 6-7 pm, Room B201
Horace Mann Middle School, Sheboygan – Thursday October 7, 4-5 pm, Room 126

Why Women Need Financial Intimacy

Studies show up to 90% of women will be alone at some point in their lives. Women need to have financial intimacy in their relationships, to protect themselves from financial harm caused by unexpected events such as death, separation, or divorce.

Learn how to have good financial planning conversations with your partner, and begin to participate in the financial decisions of your family.

Here’s the schedule For Women Only – Why Women Need Financial Intimacy:

Plymouth High School – Monday October 4, 4-5 pm, Rm B201
Plymouth High School – Tuesday October 5, 6-7 pm, Rm B201
Horace Mann Middle School – Thursday October 7, 5-6 pm, Rm 126
