Women need our own financial blog!  Here’s why:

  1. We need a blog that is just ours – no sharing with our kids, husbands, boyfriends, or pets.   Honestly, do we have to share everything?
  2. We think about money very differently than men do – we are talking about security here!    Don’t mess with our ability to feel safe!
  3. We want to be educated about money, but not necessarily in the traditional classroom way.    Give us something we can access easily when we finally have a free moment!
  4. We can learn about investing if someone would just explain it all in words we don’t need a dictionary to understand.   It’s not rocket science, so don’t make it sound like it is by using fancy financial industry words.
  5. Our biggest secret fear is some day we could become a penniless bag lady.   (See #2 above – can’t say it enough.)
  6. We may have no clue what our family’s financial situation is, because there is no financial intimacy in our relationship.   Why is it so hard to talk about money with people who love us?
  7. We could be desperate to get our family out of debt, but don’t know where to go for help.   We don’t want to live this way anymore!
  8. We know we need a family spending plan (aka budget) – where in the world do you even begin?   By the way, we hate the “budget” word – that sounds like way too much work!
  9. We know we should be saving for retirement, but there are so many choices, and we are afraid of making a big mistake.   It’s much easier to just do nothing.
  10. We need to know how to protect ourselves – we know the biggest cause of divorce is financial problems!   (See #3 above – something’s gotta change!)
